At Eden Green Farm we aim to adhere to practices of Regenerative Agriculture, which is a system of farming principles and practices that increases biodiversity, enriches soils, improves watersheds, and enhances the ecosystem, while growing food. Of course with the elimination of all toxic chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. It is a system we have invested into and with hard work of rotational grazing, using livestock to fertilize the land the syboitic relationship of plant to plant and animal to plants better our lands and grow nutritious food.
Animals such as sheep, goats, chickens and turkeys are a big part of our regenerative practices. The livestock are grazed on grassland and fed in conjunction with the various crops rotated around the farms.
This method of farming increases the biodiversity of our land as well as soil health. By carefully mapping out rotation of our animals and crops we do what nature has done for millennia; fertilizing the soils, removing pests and growing healthy animals and crop. Restoring a healthy and enriched soil to grow our crops and grass lands for grazing.
Moreover, regenerrative agricultural practices have a tremendous effect in carbon sequencing. We are purifying air by pulling the carbon from the atmosphere and bringing it into our soils. When the soils are enriched and healthy, improvement in water absorption are observed; this in return decreases water shedding and help our soil to retain nutrients.
